Teen's vision: Help children see clearer by Angelica Fischer

High school freshman, Yash Gupta whose vision is very bad, broke his glasses and had to wait a week for new ones. Yash said those seven days were literally a blur. When he found out that more than 12 million children don't have the corrective eye-wear they need, Yash wanted to do something about it. Yash Gupta, who is now 17, collects used eyeglasses and donates them to children in need. Since 2011, he has given out about 9,500 pairs of eyeglasses worth nearly $500,000.

I think what Yash Gupta did was a very nice thing to do because a lot of children who need glasses don't even have glasses and with the help of Yash they can get glasses now. Then the children can learn a lot more and do better in school and of course see better.

  1. That's nice, I believe more people should be doing far more acts of kindness like this, rather than the everyday violence we hear on the news.

  4. This is really thoughtful and helpful. I have vision problems and have to wear contacts and glasses if i don't have my contacts in. Eye-wear can get pretty expensive especially if you don't have the right health care to pay for it. For him being able to collect and donate them to less fortunate people, it is a very selfless act.
