Afghanistan's TV Craze- Teedee Simons

The country of Afghanistan is now catching up with the rest of the world, media wise. The people have grown accustomed to the media, TV, and their phones. In the country's past Taliban rule there was no tv allowed. Only a one station radio was permitted that played Islamic prayers and government propaganda. Now, Tolo tv was introduced in 2004 and is a daily use in the Afghanistan's homes. It plays a 24 hour news station and recently a new singing competition show called Afghan Star.

This article was written by Mick Krever earlier today. This article is for people who have an interest in social media changing the world . The author's point of view is non-opinionated and factual. I learned a lot from this article.

  1. It is interesting to see a country that was once was a conservative-religious and anti-westernization become more westernized and technologically advanced

I'm sure Mrs. Countryman would love this example of cultural diffusion ;)
