The Pakistani Taliban posted an online video message vowing that they were going to kill former President Pervez Musharraf if he returns to the country as planned on Sunday. One of the leaders, Tehrik-i-Taliban said he will send out a "death squad" to kill Musharraf. After the ex-president had resigned, he had spent five years in self-imposed exile in London and Dubai. Authorities have also threathened to arrest Musharraf if he returns because Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan's first elected female prime minister, was assassinated on his watch; many people blame Musharraf for not protecting her.
I feel bad for Pervez Musharraf, and at the same time, I don't. He seems to be involved in many issues and I hope he can work them out, so then maybe his life could be spared.

Sounds like he might get a taste of his own medicine.
ReplyDeletePakistan must have serious and legitimate reasons for not wanting Musharraf to return to his own country. I think it is best if he continues his self-exile, or if he does return, to not return to government. This article makes me wonder why they despise him so much.
ReplyDeleteHe should probably just avoid the issue and not return until they resolve the conflict.
ReplyDeleteHe would be best off staying in this self imposed exile unless he wants to be brutally killed by some pretty angry people!
