Post by: Addison Norman

Recently, South Korea received a number of cyber attacks from hackers. So far 3 broadcasting stations and 2 banks in South Korea have been struck. The hackers cause computer systems and networks to shut down that has defected 32,000 computers so far. After investigation, the attacks were traced back to an address in China. Since then the government has stepped in and has increased cyber security throughout the nation. Some believe these episodes could be linked to conflict with North Korea. . Also, signs have alluded that this attack could have come from North Korea, which has recently had threats of war on South Korea.
Cyber attacks don’t seem very common, but South Korea has had incidents with hackers in 2010 and 2012. This is an important event to be aware of, and especially, if you are from South Korea. It could be possible for hackers to hack civilians’ computers or even government computers.
