Woman and Husbend Assulted In India by Madeline Ibarra

A woman and her husband had been camping near a forest in India's Datia district after taking a break from their  cycling tour across the country. That night, a group of men attacked the couple. The men beat the husband and raped and wounded the woman. Along with their attack, these men stole their mobile phone and 10,000 rupees. According to the man, there were seven attackers. The police have managed to track down and capture five of the seven supposed men who attacked the couple. These five men have all confessed to committing the crime. The confessions can not serve as a reason for this case to go into Indian court, but it can serve as something to be retracted. The couple is now staying at a guesthouse in the Datia district as police still try to gather evidence and information.

It's terrible how these tourist were attacked in the middle of there trip. It is a good thing though that five of the criminals were captured, but it still leaves two on the run. The Indian police department seem to know what they are doing and have the majority of everything under control. I hope that soon this couple's case will make it into court and their attackers will be put away to protect this from happening again.

  2. That's absolutely horrific. I can't believe that the seven criminals would commit such a crime. I really hope that they catch the remaining two.

  3. Tourists are always getting attacked. What I learned from this: don't travel.
