Son of Ex-Leader of Kyrgyzstan Sentenced to Jail-Molly Paley
The son of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev was sentenced to twenty five years in jail for corruption. He was proven guilty for signing papers that cost the country of Kyrgyzstan millions of dollars, while his father was in power. Maxim Bakiyev, along with the charges he faces in Kyrgyzstan, is facing charges of conspiracy in the United States. His father was overthrown after a five-year term; Maxim is suspected of signing agreements during his fathers upheaval. This is a really terrible story of corruption in Kyrgyzstan. I hope that in the future they don't have problems like this in their government.
