Pig Bodies Found in Chinese River: AMANDA KIPP
This week, about 6,000 pig carcasses were dumped in the Huangpu River in China. The media confirmed that a local farm admitted to doing this. According to the government of the city of Hong Kong, just this year over 70,000 pigs have died from "crude raising techniques and extreme weather." People have also been selling the meat of diseased pigs. So far, 46 people have already been convicted of this crime. All of this rotting carcasses are starting to concern people about health issues. The World Health Orginization says that there are 2 types of viruses that acome from pigs, but neither of them are known to cause disease in humans. Either way if I was living near Hong Kong or the Huangpu River I would be skeptical about the drinking water considering that dead (and probably diseased) pigs are decaying in the water source. This is a disgusting and unfortunate story. I hope the people of China start treating there pigs better and being more sanitary about their waste disposal. http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/13/world/asia/pigs-china-river/index.html?hpt=wo_mid

That's disgusting... Animals should never be treated that poorly.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rachel. That's terrible.
ReplyDeleteThat's gross! Why would you dump anything that's dead into your drinking source?!

That's a lot of pigs.. Poor things! I agree ^. Animals should not be treated so badly and people shouldn't sell bad meat to potentially poison another person. This is just all around bad.
ReplyDeleteAt least bury or burn the bodies if they are contagious! Dumping then in a river or just wrong and could cause serious damage, coming back to bite them in the butt!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Maddie Ibarra, that is disgusting, and very wrong.
ReplyDeleteThat is so wrong. Poor people who have no clue of this buying meat or drinking water.
