Aeva Ramirez, Bye Cash

In India, Prime Minister Modi has just made 84% of cash worthless. Modi stated that the 500 and 1,000 rupee notes were no longer legal tender (they were the two highest circulating bills). Citizens were unaware and never given a heads-up about these changes, so were not prepared. Modi set this plan in motion to lower crime and tax dodging. This did upset many working citizens who now have hard earned money that is basically worthless.

While I see were Modi was coming from and had good intentions behind this plan it is still unfair to his citizens. My first thought was "Why didn't he warn his citizens" and that he should have given an warning in advance, but I realized that if he did all of those crooked businesses he was trying to weed out would have had an advantage. It sucks that the good people get punished for problems made by others.
