Josie Guthrey- New Zealand Penguin Tunnel

Recently in Omaru Harbor, water and power lines were moved to make way for a new project; a tunnel for penguins! This underground passkey allows the birds to pass by without any collisions with cars.
The problem with the penguin passings have been happening since the 1990s in Omaru. They tried to re-route the penguins, but they were too stubborn. Finally, they decided the best choice was to make them their own path. They built the tunnel and added lights to guide them. They also added a camera to monitor their travels.
