Throughout the month of November, almost 500, 000 baby turtles in Peru will be released back into the wild. Because they are a vulnerable animal, they government is protecting them. Each year the government takes the turtle eggs and protects them so the turtles can hatch and boost the species back to normal health. To me, this is important because it helps to keep animals species that would otherwise be extinct stay alive.

  1. That sure is quite a lot of baby turtles to take care of! I agree that it is important that the government is protecting them and the turtle eggs can hatch. It sure is great that we can save species lives by taking them in and protecting them.
