"Chattanooga school bus crash: Driver has faced complaints"-Ellen Whitehead

Recently, a bus driver in Chattanooga was driving recklessly with about 37 elementary students on the bus. He ran into a tree that split the bus in half because of the speed. Sadly, six children died. This wasn't the first time that the driver, Johnthony Walker, had been a careless driver. The school has received lots of complaints from both the students, and the parents of the children. They have said that he has purposely tried to cause the students to fall out of their seats, hit their heads on the back of the seats, and that he has cursed at them. Walker claims that he has tried to reason with the children but they do not listen which causes them to perceive his driving as unsafe. However, even if that was the case, Walker was still driving carelessly and inconsiderately. My heart goes to the families of the children that suffered in this crash. I think it's terrible that an adult would choose to punish a student for being "disrespectful" by taking their life, accident or not.

  1. I agree with you, and elementary kids are pretty good with teachers/adults and for many to complain about him is kind of suspicious to me. But hopefully this was an accident because if this wasn't I would be very angry and I would feel even worse for the families who suffered a loss.
