Melanie Escalante- shooting during Bayou Classic Weekend

While celebrating Bayou Classic Weekend in New Orleans, two men were continuing a heated arguement that led to a shootout. It was that Sunday in the French Quarter at the intersection of Iberville and Bourbon streets that their guns shot one person dead and injured nine others. Apparently the men did not have intentions of shooting anyone and are believed to be visitors. Police hold valuable information that could lead to a speedy identifications of the suspects.

These innocent people are now injured and one dead due to the selfish act of these two men. In my opinion, you should not drag your personal problems in public because things like this could happen. I can't imagine an arguement becoming so intense that you pull out a gun, better yet, shooting people who aren't even involved. It seems like almost every other day history repeats itself and there are shootings/acts of violence that take a toll on our communities. I pray that those injured can have a healthy recovery and the family and friends of the one who lost his life, can pick themselves up after such a loss. I hope the police officers find the suspects soon.

  6. I agree that you shouldn't drag your personal problems in public. All the innocent people never deserved to be hurt let alone killed. I think it is completely unnecessary for these men to have a shootout over their argument. If they ended up firing their guns, then why would they say they had no intentions of hurting anyone? With a gun out and around in the hands of people(I am not saying police), i would think it is quite likely someone would end up being hurt. Settling an argument with shooting is certainly not at all a resolution.
