Tropical Storm Otto - Lauren Rothert

Tropical Storm Otto has a rising death toll, right now the death toll is sitting at 13 people. 6000 people have been forced into shelters in the communities of Bagaces and Upala. 10143 people were evacuated from Nicaragua, but the vice president stated that there were only 597 people in the shelter. The category 2 storm has winds of 110 mph and it is moving west at 9 mph. As of now, it is over the pacific ocean and it is expected to die down as it moves to the west-southwest.

I can not believe that 12 people have already been taken by this storm. Thankfully, Otto is expected to weaken, but things change quickly. I hope with advanced technology we will be able to track this storm very carefully to prevent the death toll from rising. The residents of the impacted communities are soon to experience flooding and landslides. This is a life-threatening situation, and I hope all of the citizens in the area have evacuated in order to stay safe.
