As of today, New Delhi is the most polluted city on Earth. On November 6th, New Delhi is choking in smog. The Air Quality Index at 999 is way off the hazardous level of 500. Face masks, or anti pollutant masks, were being distributed to citizens to protect them from the toxic smog. People of New Delhi began to protest outside Parliament. Over 5,000 school have been closed and construction work has been stopped momentarily.
I believe that a situation like this one is awful. No one should have to fear breathing their everyday air because it is toxic. I think the number of cars allowed on streets should be restricted so the amount of pollution in the air has the opportunity to decrease slightly. Hopefully, the city of New Delhi remains safe, and there are no casualties due to the toxic air.
