Trump Urges Supporters to Stop Hate Crimes Against Minorities- Current Event Blog Victoria Gonzalez

Only five days since Donald Trump has been announced president elect to the entire country, the country seemed to immediately split in two. Protests continue to progress and elevate-both peaceful and violent- for the last five days all over the country. Meanwhile, graffiti has been placed in public places such as schools telling latinos to "Go back to Mexico" and calling Muslims "terrorists". Both millennials and adults are growing into hostile and decisive behavior against the opposing party, some protests grow violent and dangerous as a civilian was shot in a protest in Oregon, and as Hispanics in schools and public places are constantly being asked when they will be "deported". But recently in a 60 minutes interview with Donald Trump, when he was told that Latinos and Muslims were facing harassment he said, "I am so saddened to hear that, and I say, 'Stop it.' If it -- if it helps, I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras: 'Stop it.'" But despite his efforts to unite the country as one, many Hillary supporters and some Republicans are still stubborn to accept this man as their future president.
Personally, I don't know if his racist remarks and lewd comments were a reflection of who he really is or was a tactic to receive the most votes. But I believe that despite whatever reason he said these things, they are inexcusable and embarrassing. Personally, he will have to go above and beyond and progress our country more than any president in our history for me to accept him as my president.
