Earthquake and Tsunami in New Zealand- Caleb Gutierrez

This past weekend a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit New Zealand South Island that also triggered a tsunami. Officials say that at least 2 people are dead. This is the largest tsunami New Zealand has seen in 38 years.

This is important because the disaster and all the damage it does to people, their families, their homes and businesses. Hopefully one day scientist will be able to predict earthquakes so people can be more cautious and prevent less deaths.

  1. This is awful, not only did they have to face a traumatic earthquake but also a devastating tsunami. I hope the people of New Zealand will be able to recover as soon as possible, along with their loved ones.
